Joe Sackor’s story is one many families in our community understand—working hard, overcoming challenges, and building a better future for the next generation.

Joe came to the United States from Liberia as a refugee, searching for safety and opportunity. Like so many in Southwest Philadelphia, he didn’t just settle—he got to work. He built his life through education, determination, and a deep commitment to giving back to the community that gave him a chance.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Temple University and went on to complete two master’s degrees. Today, Joe works at Temple University Hospital, helping make sure our healthcare systems run smoothly so patients get the care they need when they need it.

But Joe’s work doesn’t stop at his job. In our neighborhoods, he’s been on the ground—organizing food drives, supporting youth programs, connecting families to resources, and helping residents recover money that rightfully belongs to them. Through his leadership with Liberia Medical Mission, he’s also helped deliver critical healthcare services to underserved communities here and abroad.

Joe is a husband, a father of four, and someone who understands the pressures families are facing—rising costs, access to quality healthcare, safe neighborhoods, and real opportunities for our children.

He’s running for State House because he believes our community deserves leadership that listens, shows up, and delivers. Leadership that puts people first—not politics.
